The Reds have taken out the garbage recently, getting rid of a lot of the roster fillers and all. However, the thing that's stinking up the rubbish bin is still stuck to the bottom, rotten, moldy, and emitting toxins into the air.
Still, there's pleeeeenty of time to take a firehose to the bin. Too much time.

Is there any way to unload Taveras without taking another bad contract in return and hoping for the best?
Given the Reds apparent financial crunch I don't think they will just release him.
I don't think they'll release him, either. That's not the problem. The problem is that Dusty will play him if he's on the team. I mean, he'd be an expensive backup, but the money's already spent, so he could be an ok backup. Except Baker is manager.
I really don't see Walt pulling a rabbit out of a hat on this one. Still hoping to be surprised!
Having a leadoff guy who has an OBP of .275 and 18 walks in 404 AB is a gross miscalculation of common sense.
