I am done with Brandon Claussen

My patience with him has run out. We are a quarter of the way through the season and he has shown absolutely no sign of being a reliable starter. He has only had three quality starts in his ten outings this season and has given up twelve bombs. There are those who say "he's young" (he's 27 - he should be hitting his prime soon) or make excuses for him (take away this game or that one and his ERA's much better), but it's far enough along in the season to see that he isn't consistent, and he shows no signs of changing. Send him to the bullpen. Come on, Paul, get that arm working again!

Stupid is as stupid does, and last night he pitched stupidly. Again.

I'm with you all the way on this one. He needs to go the way of Dave Williams as far as I'm concerned. A team can live with one weak pitcher, but not two. Arroyo and Harang are very good so far. Ramirez is a work in progress with promise. Milton and Claussen both lack consistency. They need to be replaced. I know, I don't have an answer as to how to do that. That's why "The Kriv" gets paid the big bucks. DO IT!

OK, girl, so who replaces him? Claussen is the 3rd best starter the Reds have. I'd rather he be the #4 guy, but he's what we got.

Let's not forget that Claussen had a 105 ERA+ last year, in 29 starts. That's above-average, and was second on the club to Harang (and miles better than any other Reds starter). I'm not going to dump a guy who did that, just based on three bad starts.
